What a beautiful day! This year we were able to partner with several churches to make an amazing event for International Day of Friendship.
This day was dignified by the United Nations in 2011 to inspire peace and bridge building. So in Nashville, we took it as an opportunity to break down barriers that divide us and open real, honest communication.
The event began with a United Methodist preacher having each person write down stereotypes we’ve heard (or thought!) about a specific type of person: White woman, Black woman, Black man, White man, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Scientologist, Buddhist, etc.
After everyone wrote down stereotypes, people shared. They talked to one another and learned who these people really are, not just what some people say about them. It was an incredible experience that led to friendships and fun.
